Maxxis is proud to introduce the Victra RC-1, the latest in its Victra line of ultra-high performance tires. Designed with input from racers and track day enthusiasts, the Victra RC-1 was engineered for the racers, by the racers.
The RC-1 is a DOT Approved R compound that features an aggressive tread pattern that minimizes tread squirm, a special racing compound designed to deliver consistently fast lap times and a body casing that offers great handling response and smooth break-away characteristics.
Maxxis wanted to provide a better solution for the grassroots racers across the country. The RC-1 was designed to deliver the most value to those that don’t have deep pockets and big-time sponsors. From the fast lap times to the approachable limit and great heat cycle performance, customers will feel and appreciate all the homework we’ve done to deliver a product that is custom designed for the weekend racer in all of us” said John Wu, Assistant Product Manager for Maxxis.
The Meet was held on Sunday May 5th 2013, at the Palisadoes International raceway in Kingston Jamaica. The event had in excess of 300 spectators and some 30+ entrants, who all competed on Maxxis HG3 tyres. Many drivers boasted proudly that the HG3 tyre was faster and stickier than their previous tyres, earning them faster lap times with less sliding around corners. Sunday's meet provided some of the closest racing to date. With the overnight rains and a hot afternoon, teams tried to figure out the best strategy to make the tyres last.
